History

The Berlin Crocodiles were founded end of June 2001. At this time a group of six young men met to make the aspiring, but in Germany unknown, sport called Australian Rules Football (also Footy ) popular in Berlin. Only three months later the first game of the Berlin Crocodiles took place in Munich. On October 17th 2001 the Berlin Australian Football Club was officially founded by them players as the Berlin Australian Football Club e.V (BAFC), which is now recognized as a non-profit-association. At the beginning of November the first home game took place against the Frankfurt Redbacks .

The first years of the Crocs in the Australian Football League Germany ( AFLG ) – the National League in Germany – were not very successful. That changed in 2009 as soon as the BAFC unexpectedly won the Championship of the second division. In 2011, same year of the tenth anniversary of the Berlin Crocodiles, the club had to celebrate the biggest success in its short history. The team reached the AFLG Grand Final and ended the season as the vice champions.

The most important thing for us to be that successful is team spirit. One for all and all for one

Der Berlin AFC e.V. ist nach §§51 ff. AO und §5 Abs. 1 Nr. 9 KStG ein gemeinnütziger Verein.
